The first work party of the 2019/20 season took place on Sunday morning when LDWA members turned out early to help with flash repairs. There was a good turnout and armed with nothing more lethal than spades, everyone got stuck in to the hard work with much banter and laughter. The flashes are vital for the wildfowl and waders over the winter months and while shooting is the Association’s reason for being, conservation is now becoming an important aspect of the Association’s business.
Later in the morning, repairs were done to a cattle crossing to enable stock on the marsh access to more grassland so it can be grazed to a suitable level.
Thanks to all members who turned out, much appreciated.
