A new generation

One of the key objectives of LDWA is to introduce the next generation of sportsmen and women to wildfowling. Teaching youngsters the basics of good shooting is crucial to the well-being, survival and reputation of wildfowling and is an important feature of our underlying principles of promoting Conservation, Education and Recreation on the Ribble Estuary.

Jayden Finch (age 9) is the youngest member of Lytham & District Wildfowlers and is keen to follow in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, making him a third generation LDWA wildfowler. New Year’s Day 2019 saw Jayden in action out on Lytham marsh with his dad Andy. Jayden is pictured out on the marsh, well wrapped up and carrying the 20 bore he uses for shooting. While he had an unsuccessful day at New Year, he did get his first two pink-footed geese last week.

Jayden and other young shots like him are the future of the Association, so well done Jayden!
